Water Aerobics Registration Form


Our water aerobic classes provide a friendly, fun atmosphere, in which exercises are aimed at endurance building, muscle strengthening, and improving range of motion while immersed in water, where the buoyancy of the water puts much less stress on your body and joints.

 

We are fortunate enough to have Carolyn Hogan returning to instruct our classes.  Carolyn teaches shallow and deep water aerobics as well as arthritis aerobic classes at a nearby recreation center and Army base.  She is a very experienced instructor and we are delighted to have such a knowledgeable, caring and fun instructor returning to teach at our pool. 

 

Carolyn will be offering 2 types of water aerobics classes this year.  The shallow water classes will be from 7pm to 8pm usually 2 evenings a week.  The deep water aerobics class was so popular last year that Carolyn will be teaching it twice a week this year from 12:45pm - 1:45pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Flotation belts and resistance equipment will be used in the deep water (diving well) to pin point the hips, thighs, and strengthening the abs.  Both deep and shallow classes are broken down in this format: 10-12 minute warm up and stretching, 30 minute continuous cardio, 10 minute arm and ab targeting, and 5-8 minutes cooldown and stretching.  Both workouts can be as intense as you make them & everyone works at their own pace and abilities, so it's perfect for the beginner or experienced water participant.  We encourage you to bring a friend, jump in, and try this great way to keep in shape!

 

Both types of aerobic classes will begin with dinner and an orientation tentatively scheduled on Tuesday, June 19th at 6:30pm on the patio.  The evening shallow water class will have its first session in the water tentatively on Thursday, June 21st from 7:00pm to 8:00pm and will continue twice a week for a total of 15 sessions for $75.  You will need to bring aquatic dumb bells for the evening sessions.    The daytime deep water class will have its first session in the water tentatively on Tuesday, June 19th from 12:45pm to 1:45pm and will continue twice a week for a total of 15 sessions also for $75.  If you choose to enroll in both classes you will receive a reduced rate of $120 for both.  Please check the calendar located on www.rollinghillsswimclub.org for the exact schedule for each class. 

 

Nonmembers will be allowed to take the water aerobics classes for $100 for either the shallow or deep water aerobic classes or $170 for both.  Nonmembers will need to sign a guest release form.  The water aerobic classes are available to our members first and registration closes on June 11th so register soon to reserve your spot.
